2019 Lancaster Fiber Festival in Lancaster, PA

 

 

The Lancaster Fiber Festival has been unable to secure event space for 2019. At this point there is little expectation that the event will move forward.

 

Thank you to all of our Vendors, Guests, Students, Teachers, Guilds, Manufacturers, the staff of the Marriott Hotel & Convention Center and the wonderful family & friends who came to support the first Lancaster Fiber Festival! It was an amazing experience and we hope to do it again next year.

Preview Party:

Because many people enjoyed the slower pace of the Festival, the open aisles and ability to talk to our knowledgeable vendors, we have added a preview night on Wednesday. The hours are 6:30 to 9:00 pm.

This will be your opportunity to find special offers, prizes and activities that will only be available on Wednesday night.

Light refreshments will be served. Admission fee to be determined. (Preview ticket will include a there-day Vendor Hall pass).

Vendors:

Hand crafted ceramic beads, buttons and closures at One Ova Kind

Our wonderful  vendors from around the country will offer supplies and finished goods and services. From hand dyed yarn to Zentangle pens, beads, metallic, silk & cotton threads, notions and fabric. You will find a variety of unique and interesting supplies, books, patterns and other materials to enrich your craft. Many vendors will be offering demonstrations in their booths. These are experts who can help you learn and improve your skills!

Demonstrations & Lectures:

The Festival Event Stage will host up to 38 free (with admission) 15 to 20 minute demonstrations or lectures. Demonstrations are scheduled on the hour and half hour during this three-day event. Demonstrations will give you a chance to learn from our nationally recognized teachers, vendors, manufacturers and local guilds. 2018 topics included: dye yarn with Kool Aid,  What Makes a Quilt Modern?, The Button Talk, How to Avoid Repetitive Notion Injuries and many other fun and informative topics. Can’t wait to see what topics will come up in 2019!

 

Recharge Station & Make & Takes:

Take a few minutes to recharge your phone and yourself! There are four Recharge Stations throughout the Vendor Hall. There are tables and chairs available for you to work on your own project or work on a make & take. The areas are: Paper (and mixed media), Fabric, Yarn & Thread and each one will offer projects through out the day. See Make & Take schedule on this website or in your program available after 3/1/19. Clinics:

In 2018 we offered 5 different clinics. These took place in the Recharge Station for each medium. In 2018 we offered Knit & Crochet with Tamara Kelly and Jessie Rayot, Appliqué with Carol C Porter and Embroidery with PR Hurst. You can still join in even if you don’t have any questions to hear what others have to say of pick up some quick tips. See clinic schedule on this website or in your program available after 3/1/19. (free with admission)

 

Door Prizes:

Grand prizes will be given out on Saturday afternoon and additional prizes given throughout the three days. Prizes will reflect all four categories: Paper & Mixed Media; Yarn, Knit, Crochet, Weaving; Fabric, Quilting & Sewing and Thread and Embroidery. You must be present to win any prizes except the Grand Prizes. Entry form will be received with your ticket purchase. (free with admission)

You will be find a wide range of topics from both nationally and regionally known teachers.  Class hours will be offered in 2-, 3- and 5- hour time slots. Make your plans now to join us in Lancaster in 2019 for this amazing event!

Region of Lancaster:

Lancaster, Pa is located in South Central Pennsylvania. Whether traveling with a group of friends or family, visitors will enjoy the historic aspects of the region, including museums, Amish & Mennonite history, the country’s oldest farmer’s market (Lancaster Central Market, a block away from the convention center), and Gettysburg National Park. Local attractions for young and old abound, including wineries, breweries, and amusement parks (Hershey Park and Dutch Wonderland are both nearby).

There is a wide range of lodging, shopping, dining, and entertainment choices that will work with everyone’s budget. Lancaster is easily accessible by automobile and Amtrak from Washington D.C., New York, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. These major cities are within a 3 1/2 hour drive to the city of Lancaster. Airports in Philadelphia (PHL), Baltimore (BWI), and Harrisburg (MDT) serve the Lancaster area.
